Operation Illuminardo
Join us as we light the way for Santa 2024Last year was something truly special. My kids and I went door-to-door, and with the incredible support of our neighbors, we lit up homes across Leonardo. We ended up covering Ocean Blvd—over a mile-long stretch of road—with nearly 1,000 luminaries, as far as the eye could see.
It was overwhelming to see everyone’s reaction. My neighbors came up to me, tears in their eyes, telling me how beautiful it was. People from all over town—and even from surrounding areas—got in their cars just to drive down Ocean Blvd to witness the glow. Seeing their eyes light up was something I’ll never forget.
This year, we’re aiming even higher. We want to light up every street in Leonardo and bring that same magic to every corner of our town!

FAQ
Will you deliver the Luminaries on Christmas Eve and set them up?
Answer: Yes! We will start delivering them and setting them up in the morning and aim to be finished by 4:30pm.
Do I need to be home?
Answer: No! We will manage the runway setup for Santa so you can spend time with your in laws… better you than me!
How long do the batteries last?
Will they stay lit bif you deliver them in the morning?
Answer: Last year they stayed super bright for 36 hours and lit for 7-10 days. If you happen to get one that burns out before Santa comes, just shoot us a text and we will come replace it. 1(732) 832 1664
Do you come to pick them up afterwards?
Answer: No, that is your responsibility. But most people left them up for several days last year. It really was a special sight to see
The bags are paper, so what if it rains or snows?
Answer: Unfortunately, we lost Mother Nature’s number a few years back when the new iPhone came out, so we have no control over the weather. The bags are coated to be water resistant, but they are not waterproof and can break when wet. Last year, the moisture from the sand even weekend them a bit, so we recommend not moving them once they are in place, especially if the weather is not playing nice.
Do you use real candles? Isn't that a fire hazard?
Answer: Yes, it is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and NO, we DO NOT use real candles, but led battery-powered tealights. Please do not use real candles in paper bag luminaries ever! We would love the volunteer firemen to bring Santa by his boat after dark like he does every year, but if you burn down the neighborhood, they’ll be too busy. Try not to do that, k?
Merry Christmas from Operation Illuminardo
